Metaverse game developer Gamefam has released its annual State of the Roblox and Fortnite Brands report. The report predicts that the global metaverse game market will reach $168.40 billion by 2030 and the number of users will reach 900 million, indicating that the industry still has strong growth potential. The report reveals a significant change in usage habits among younger generations: Gen Z and Alpha spend 39% more time on Roblox and Fortnite than TikTok and YouTube.
Metaverse platform Roblox Q2 revenue in 2024 is $893.50 million, compared to $681 million in the same period last year. Market expectations are $890 million. Third quarter revenue is expected to be $860 million to $885 million, and market estimates are $867.40 million.
According to Bloomberg, online creative gaming platform Roblox earned $3.50 billion last year mainly by selling its virtual currency Robux, which users on Roblox can use to buy virtual accessories. The current gaming platform is accused of putting some minors at risk due to its interactivity and anonymity. To this end, the platform will change the default settings, and users under the age of 9 will be automatically restricted from playing some games after the fall.
